The Bertin Power Plant

The first hydroelectric power plant in the region

The Bertin Power Plant is one of the first hydroelectric plants built in the Aosta Valley. In 1904, it brought electricity to the Great St. Bernard Valley, and today it has been restored to house a permanent museum and temporary exhibitions.

Today, the Bertin Power Plant hosts the small "Museum of Energy," which collects documents, objects, and machinery recovered during the building's renovation. It also features the semi-permanent exhibition "Saluti da Étroubles" (Greetings from Étroubles), an exhibition of postcards that narrates the changing landscape and evolving society through the words and images of correspondence from the 20th century. It is a tale of the story of this village and its people.
